Founded on Family Values in Erie, Pennsylvania

Janitors Supply Co. was founded in 1954 by Edward Mascharka Sr., a hardworking entrepreneur who saw a need for dependable janitorial supplies in the Erie area. He started with a clear vision:

Deliver high-quality products with a level of service customers could count on.

Operating out of a modest facility and relying on personal delivery, Ed Sr. focused on building relationships with local businesses, schools, and institutions—many of which remain customers today. His hands-on approach and dedication to doing the job right laid the foundation for everything JSC has become.

Three Generations of Leadership

As the company grew, so did the family’s involvement. Today, Janitors Supply is proudly led by the third generation of the Mascharka family.

  • Edward Mascharka III now serves as President, continuing the values his grandfather instilled—service, partnership, and pride in a job well done.
  • Thomas Mascharka, Vice President of Sales, has played a critical role in modernizing the company’s offerings while staying true to its customer-first approach.

Together, they’ve expanded the business while preserving its most important trait:

Treating every customer like family.

From One Truck to Two Regional Warehouses

What started as a small, local operation has grown into a full-scale regional distributor with more than 30,000 square feet of warehouse space and two strategic locations— in Erie, PA and Latrobe, PA.

Key milestones include:

  • Expansion into packaging and equipment sales alongside janitorial supplies
  • Launch of equipment service, rentals, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Longstanding vendor partnerships with trusted manufacturers
  • Investment in logistics technology, inventory control, and delivery scheduling to better serve customers
  • Implementation of online ordering and customer-specific supply programs
